Heavy Group is a grouping of regional Mexican music, also known as banda music or northern (having emerged in northern Mexico). It is considered one of the groups that launched a new generation of this type of music, giving it a freshness that has been quite accepted in Mexico and the United States and opening doors to new groups of the same movement. The success of them has earned the "slogan" of "the group worth its weight .....!".
Heavy Group was born in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, in 1993, its creators Beto Zapata and Pepe Elizondo decided to form this group, being fans of the music of his homeland: the northern. Convinced that his was recorded with this musical style gradually print your proposal northern rhythms that have always characterized, and the sounds of the accordion as a child takes Beto Zapata.
In each album, the quintet includes some innovative element Monterrey as norteño mixtures with Latin rhythms, accordion, bajo sexto and drums. These sounds have made the perfect combination with the nuance of voice of their vocalist, achieving a modern, fresh and very northern.
With several musical productions to his credit and countless gold records and platinum, Beto, Pepe, Luis Mario, Toño and July, have been placed since 1993 in the top of the charts in Mexico, primarily in the area north, with hits like: "I ask you please," "Do not Be Afraid Of Mourn", "I", "Day After Day", "Love Walked In", "Help", "Ask" and "how do I ? ". The latter two were included on his album "Thousand Stories" and with them, were reaffirmed as one of the most representative groups of northern music in much of the American Union, appearing in the top 10 in the list of Regional Mexican prestigious Billboard, the more important in regard to music in the United States.
Officially the July 2, 1993 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon is formed this group, with Beto Zapata on accordion, Rodolfo "Popo" Guajardo on electric bass, and Mario Padilla and Pepe Elizondo on drums and the newcomers respectively bajosexto Solomon Group Robles and legendary, in which Elizondo was bearish while Padilla was also drummer. In that year signed a contract with the former MCM (Underground House Music) Warner today, and recorded his first album titled "Help me to forget", with songs like Help me forget, day after day, I, I love you so much, I lost Kisses , etc.
